Our Teams

Team 1912 is our FIRST Robotics Competition team with high school students from Northshore and Salmen High Schools. The Team Combustion program is also home for three other FIRST teams that provide future and new Team 1912 members with skills training and FIRST team and competition experience.

Team 24706 Impulse

Team Impulse is FIRST Tech Challenge team 24706 formed in 2024 primarily for Team 1912 students with no or minimal prior FIRST experience. Any 1912er interested in the FIRST Tech Challenge competition is invited to ask about membership on 24706. The FIRST Tech Challenge season starts with kickoff in September, with Qualifier events on Saturdays from December to February, through a Louisiana Regional Championship in late February or early March.

Team 8956 Pyrogen

Team Pyrogen is FIRST Tech Challenge team 8956 primarily for students from our feeder junior high schools (usually primarily from Boyet Junior High) but open to interested 9^th-graders. Team Pyrogen offers these students the opportunity to participate in a challenging high school-level competition with teams from high schools across Louisiana. Team Pyrogen was founded in 2014, after the 2013-2014 Boyet Junior High FIRST LEGO League Challenge team won the Louisiana State Championship and the students and mentors looked for a new challenge.

Team Ignition

Team Ignition is our FIRST LEGO League team started in 2024 for elementary school students from our community. We believe Team Ignition will offer an early path for students to join Team Combustion and benefit from the FIRST programs all the way from 4^th to 12^th grade.
