Team 1912 is committed to inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders through community engagement, educational initiatives, and promoting robotics and technology throughout our community.
In May, we invite young women from our community to participate in our Women in STEM event. They explore many opportunities available in the STEM field. Women working in these fields lead interactive stations that showcase their careers and experiences Through hands-on activities and presentations, participants gain firsthand insight into different STEM professions and are inspired to see themselves as future scientists, engineers, innovators, and leaders.
Once every month, Team 1912 Combustion hosts a FIRST Saturday, inviting students from all over our community to join us and engage in a STEM-related activity with help and demonstration from our team members.
Once a year, Team 1912 Combustion hosts the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) qualifier event, a local, one-day official tournament where student robotics teams compete. High-performing and top-awarded teams at these qualifiers earn advancement bids to regional or state championship tournaments.
Team Combustion hosts a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) qualifier which brings together student-led robotics teams to compete in a head-to-head competition along with alliance challenges. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to watch and cheer for these students.
